I was mostly kidding. One of the problems with a sidebar blogroll is that it passes pagerank. I am ditcihng mine (when I get around to it) in favor of either a flash widget that doesn't pass pagerank, or a static page that can become a good source of news. I don't have the ambition that Greg does, but I do like to see what kind of people are interesting.

Another thing that I wanted to mention about your service, ratespeed. I'm for transparency. In a big way. I'm for making your values public, blah blah.

But the thing I'm wondering isn't about baiting and switching, it's about keeping it from being a race to the bottom.

Example: I closed 89 loans in 2007. I missed one closing date because and only because I didn't get the title commitment from the douchebags at the REO title place until the day before closing. AAAAAAAAAAAAAANYway. The question is, there are LOs that have missed closings, and done other douchebag things.

On your model, how do I differentiate myself without having to initially underbid? I'm happy to play, and I'm happy to be a low price provider (especially if we can offload some of the work on getting docs to the customer and automate more stuff). This could be a blog post, an email to me, whatever.

oh, it's ll cool, except for the fact that you dropped your 'misc' category, and thus the prominent place that I enjoyed for so long. So sad.
