Fortune Magazine is way off. Anyone that's done business with Indymac or Washington Mutual, knows how difficult they can be.

No doubt Cicerone...

I believe that the poll was very consumer driven, thus showing the naivete' that still exists in the marketplace.

Then again, its kind of like 'The Biggest Loser', since its almost impossible to find a mortgage company that isn't neck deep in one compromising issue or another...

From the link:

"First American and eAppraiseIT violated that independence when Washington Mutual strong-armed them into a system designed to rip off homeowners and investors alike,” said Attorney General Cuomo. “The blatant actions of First American and eAppraiseIT have contributed to the growing foreclosure crisis and turmoil in the housing market. By allowing Washington Mutual to hand-pick appraisers who inflated values, First American helped set the current mortgage crisis in motion.”

I stand corrected, WAMU isnt being sued directly, rather implicated in a lawsuit against First American, where WAMU: "strong-armed them into a system designed to rip off homeowners and investors alike".

-My bad...
